Rachel Porter
Associate Veterinarian
Rachel Porter has been serving Greenville and the surrounding areas for the past 13 years as an associate veterinarian. With a deep passion for building connections and caring for others, she found her perfect calling in veterinary medicine—caring for beloved pets.
Rachel’s role on the veterinary care team encompasses all aspects of veterinary care, from practicing medicine, diagnosing and treating diseases, to performing surgeries, dental procedures, and providing vaccination and preventative medicine.
Although she humbly says she doesn’t have a specific professional achievement, Rachel prides herself on doing her best where she has been planted, striving to offer excellent care for each patient.
Outside of her veterinary work, Rachel loves to bake, sing, and spend quality time with her husband and two daughters. Her family also includes Halligan, a 5-year-old Beagle mix rescued from the side of the road, who is powered by his nose and stomach, like any true Beagle. Rachel’s love for animals is further reflected in her passion for rescue pets.
A fun fact about Rachel is her childhood nickname, “Squirrel,” given by her mom because she never stopped moving—leading her to now collect squirrel-themed items as a tribute to that playful nickname. She also loves her church and enjoys staying connected with her community.
Jenna King

Jenna King is a highly experienced Veterinary Assistant at Stone Ave Vet, bringing over 20 years of expertise in veterinary medicine to the clinic. After graduating from Tri-County in 2004, Jenna began her career in general practice, where she worked for 4.5 years. She then specialized in internal medicine and oncology for five years, followed by additional years in both general practice and specialty medicine.
Jenna’s passion for veterinary medicine is driven by her desire to help animals and educate clients, fostering strong relationships with pet owners. In her role, Jenna is responsible for educating clients, monitoring patients under anesthesia, drawing blood, placing IV catheters, maintaining medical equipment, performing dental cleanings and dental x-rays, and assisting doctors with procedures.
Among her professional accomplishments, Jenna is particularly proud of her ability to perform CT scans and administer chemotherapy. Her dedication to her field is matched by her personal passion for veterinary medicine, especially in the areas of surgery and dentistry.
Jenna’s love for animals is evident in her own diverse pet family, which includes Millie, a 14-year-old independent dog given to her by her former oncologists; Bentley, a 2-year-old spunky and loving rabbit; Rascal and Rosie, 1-year-old barn cats with unique histories and personalities; Silver, an 18-year-old blind and spunky Shetland pony; Bullet, a 28-year-old Shetland pony turned show pony; and Mallorie, a 25-year-old gentle and easy-going paint mare in retirement.
Outside of work, Jenna’s life story includes overcoming scoliosis, wearing a back brace for 7.5 years, and undergoing back surgery at 15, which left her with two titanium rods in her back. This personal journey highlights her resilience and determination, qualities she brings to her work every day.
Jenna King’s extensive experience, dedication to animal care, and personal passion make her an invaluable member of the Stone Ave Vet team.

Jessica Edwards
Customer Service Representative
Jessica Edwards has been a dedicated professional in veterinary medicine for nearly a decade. Starting her journey as a certified veterinary assistant, she quickly moved up to a technician position. After sustaining an ankle injury, Jessica transitioned to the reception area, where she now excels as a Customer Service Representative at Stone Ave Vet.
Jessica’s passion for animals and dedication to their health and safety drive her career. She finds immense joy in seeing sick pets recover and return to their families. As part of the veterinary care team, Jessica greets clients and patients with a smile, ensuring they feel welcome and cared for from the moment they walk in. She is also meticulous about cleanliness, making sure the hospital remains clean and presentable. Her responsibilities include checking in patients, scheduling appointments, and answering phones, and she often assists in the back when needed due to her certification.
One of Jessica’s notable professional achievements was her promotion to technician within two years at her first general practice. At her current practice, she is known for her reliability and attention to detail, always completing tasks correctly the first time. Her colleagues also affectionately refer to her as “the cleaning lady” due to her passion for maintaining a clean environment.
Jessica’s love for animals extends to her own pets, each with unique personalities and histories:
Regina George, a 5-year-old Tortoiseshell, was bottle-fed as a baby and is known for her affectionate nature.
Gretchen Wieners, a 3-year-old Tortoiseshell, was a hit-by-car (HBC) rescue and embodies the typical “tortitude.”
James P. Sullivan (Sulley), an 8-year-old black Pug, was Jessica’s dream dog, adopted from a former coworker.
Asta, a 3-year-old Great Dane mix, was adopted from GCAC and is a blood donor at Fetch!.
Theodore, a 3-year-old black domestic shorthair, was a stray who became part of Jessica’s family after being taken in on a cold night.
Outside of work, Jessica identifies as a cat lady, though she loves dogs as well. Her greatest personal achievements include becoming a wife and stepmom and purchasing her first house in 2020. Inspired by her independent and successful mother, Jessica finds joy in watching TikToks, budgeting, and spending wisely. A quirky fact about Jessica is her diagnosis of OCD at the age of 10, which likely contributes to her meticulous and organized approach to both her personal and professional life.
